Ely Splash Pad Hits a Fundraising Milestone and Calls on Local Businesses for Specialist Support

Ely Splash Pad has announced a milestone in its community‑driven fundraising efforts, confirming that its latest JustGiving Crowdfunder has raised £500.

The appeal remains open for further contributions.

Community Support and Business Involvement
The Charity continues to pursue a range of grant opportunities, but is also calling on local businesses to get involved. Companies are invited to support the project by sponsoring a survey, donating raffle prizes, or offering professional expertise. Businesses in architecture, construction, landscaping, ecology, or surveying may be able to contribute time, materials, or specialist knowledge in lieu of financial donations.

Aquafest 2026: Community Crafts and Raffle
Ely Splash Pad will once again share a stall with VCAEC at this year’s Aquafest, where volunteers plan to offer handmade crafts in exchange for donations. The team is appealing to Ely’s creative community for contributions of artwork or crafts to help boost fundraising on the day.

A raffle will also take place at the event, and the Charity is seeking exciting prize donations from both businesses and individuals.

In a further boost to the project, The Hive’s management has agreed that profits from an on-site snack kiosk located at the Splash Pad could be directed toward ongoing maintenance. A design mock‑up has been prepared to illustrate how the kiosk could be incorporated into the site plan.

If you’d like to support the project – through donations, skills, materials, or creative contributions the team would be delighted to hear from you.

“After taking the project through pre planning last year we are really excited to be pushing forward with this much wanted project for the residents of East Cambridgeshire.” Angela Haylock, Secretary
