Ely Squadron’s Flight Sergeant Shortlisted for Westminster Award

Congratulations to Ely Squadron’s Flight Sergeant Rory Donoghue who has been shortlisted for the Westminster Award and now moves forward to the next stage in selection for this tri service national award.

The CVQO Westminster Award is an annual competition designed to recognise and reward the most deserving CVQO learners. CVQO is a UK education charity, providing vocational qualifications to youth group members and their adult instructors. CVQO qualifications are accredited by Pearson BTEC, ILM and City & Guilds

Each year CVQO invite cadet and youth group leaders to nominate a brilliant young person for something they’ve achieved. This year, for the first time, nominations were endorsed by fellow cadets!

CVQO deliberately leave the criteria for the nomination open; it could be that they’ve overcome a personal challenge, helped a family member or friend in need, undertaken some amazing community/charity work or are simply an all-round terrific character.
