On 30th September, City of Ely Swimming Club celebrated its recent backing from Grovemere Property Limited of Lancaster Way Business Park.
To allow its promising young squad to stay competitive, the Club were keen to obtain enough backstroke ledges for all 8 lanes at the new Hive pool.
The backstroke ledges are used at many galas, particularly higher level ones, and were needed so that the Club’s swimmers can gain vital experience at club championships and in training.
Grovemere stepped in to donate £600 which, together with the Club’s own fundraising, allowed the full set of ledges to be bought.
The ledges were presented to the Club by Nicola Tuck, one of Grovemere’s directors, at the ceremony at the Club this week.
The ledges have gone straight into action as the Club is currently holding its annual Club Championships at which all members are encouraged to compete to gain competitive experience.
Thank you so much Grovemere.
