Ely Tigers move up to third with a bonus point win away at Holt.
The teams traded tries in the first fifteen minutes. John Dibb went over after he broke through the opposition defence. Man of the match Nathan Brooks then scored his first of the day when he picked from the back of a rolling maul and crashed through the opposition defence. The score at the end of the half was 17-7 to the Tigers.
Holt came out all guns blazing in the second half. They scored a converted try and slotted two penalties soon after the break. The Tigers rugby then began to flow again, they kicked for the corner after the opposition were penalised for offside. The Ely backs scythed through the opposition defence and Brooks was on hand to receive the offload for a converted try. Holt scored a third to bring them in touching distance of the Tigers. In the dying minutes of the game Joel Scott Paul sealed the victory after a quick pick and go from the back of a ruck saw him reach out and touch down for a converted try. Final score to Ely 29-25.
