The Ely Tri Club Duathlon (formerly the Monster Racing Duathlon) is a great way to shake down those winter legs and kick start the race season off in the best way possible.
Race HQ will be at Witchford Village College. The 5km run course is an out and back road route taking you across a disused WW2 Airfield. The bike course heads briefly onto the A10 before heading out into Fenland territory! It passes through the sleepy villages of Little Downham and Coveney. The second run uses the same course as the first. This promises to be a quick course, although windy Fenland conditions on the fen roads are almost definitely guaranteed!!
Liz and Paul Heselwood (formerly Monster Racing) kindly gifted the Duathlon, and the Runfest in September, to Ely Tri Club. Any monies raised will be invested back into the Club and the local Community.
Up to 125 individuals and 10 relay team will be taking part. There are only a handful of places left in the individual category, and several Relay Team places. So, grab a friend and get booked in – see if you can win some bling!
Testimonials: 1st Male 2018
“A fantastically organised race at a perfect venue and the ideal opportunity to test yourself early on in the season. The run and bike are both fast and pretty flat making it an event suitable for all. When you add in the superb marshals the Duathlon is a great event and I’ll hopefully be back next year!”

“I love this race. It’s a hard, short blast which blows the cobwebs away at the start of the season. The WW2 airfield is unique and muddy but who doesn’t love a bit of mud? The bike course roads are reasonable and traffic is light. Be careful out there though…this is the fens. Marshals are amazing, Organisation is spot on and everyone is friendly”.
