A ram raid in Fordham in the early hours of this morning is the latest in a string of ATM related thefts across the area.
Police are appealing for information after crooks smashed the brick work and window of a convenience store in Carter Street in an attempted raid on a cash machine.
At about 1.30am a silver BMW X3, later dumped at the scene, was used to ram into the building, while a rope was used in a failed bid to drag the ATM cash machine out.
The men fled after the rope snapped.
It’s thought they then took off in two other vehicles.
The brazen crime is the latest in a spate of ATM thefts across the area.
The offenders are believed to have left the scene in two other vehicles, leaving the silver BMW X3 behind.
On December 15, BP Littleport was targeted by thieves, who used a tele handler to bash into the building before trying to steal an ATM.

In November a cash machine at the Co-op in North Street, Burwell, was targeted twice in the same week.
