Local Dementia Choir goes On-Line!

Registered Charity All In Sound has now been running Sing! Together in the Ely community for 2 years! A group which is for people living with dementia, memory loss and their carers, happens on Monday mornings at Ely Beet Club.

With current Covid-19 Crisis and following a grant in response to that from Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, All In Sound are able to offer Sing! Together on-line for all group members and would like to reach out to even more people!

Sessions have seen people come together online for a sing and a catch up, as well as lots of fun and laughter, helping people to keep connections and prevent social isolation, another concern of the current lockdown environment that we are all experiencing.

Group Leader Kathryn says “As soon as I heard that we wouldn’t be able to meet I knew that I had to do something to bring people together like we usually do, so put together a virtual group, and developed a set up that means that I can bring interactive music and singing sessions into peoples’ homes during the week. We would also like to hear from other families in similar situations who would like to access this group so please do make contact.”

The group will be music-making and singing in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment, with plenty of social time too for tea and cake! No experience needed at all – we do hope that you can come and join us.
