Making memories in Littleport – with buttons

It’s all about the buttons in Littleport this weekend, with residents invited to take part in a free community session.

The Adams Heritage Centre is hosting another of the Field Theatre Group’s Button Tree sessions on Saturday.

Its organiser says: “Remember when folk used to get together, to laugh and talk, and share their news, stories and memories?
“Step back in time and experience the Old World charm of the Adams centre, and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of a good old-fashioned get-together.”

People will be able to add family stories to a community Button Tree and share their own experiences.
“We have recorded some extraordinary memories, some funny, others touching. Amazing stories about ordinary people! And we’re looking forward to hearing more.”
A specially commissioned book, The Littleport Button Tree, immortalises residents’ memories for generations to come.
People are invited to bring buttons, photographs and stories to share between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday (January 27).
The event is open to residents of all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult) and the venue caters for people with disabilities.
