Another weekend of flying lessons for Ely’s RAF Air Cadets from 1094 (City of Ely) Squadron Air Training Corps.
The Cadets have been studying Airmanship and the principles of flight and today they put the theory into practice.
The RAF provide The Air Cadets with Air Experience Flights in Squadrons of their basic training aircraft the Grob Tutor based on Air Force stations all around the country.
Cadets take part in a progressive training syllabus which includes RAFAC Flight Simulator courses and flying lessons with RAF Pilots. Cadets as young as 13 take control of an Aircraft for the first time.
Today that’s just what happened at RAF Wittering with Ely Squadron’s junior cadets working towards their Blue Wings and the more senior cadets working towards their Bronze Wings Badges.
If you are aged between 12 and 17 then you could join the RAF Air Cadets in your spare time and take part in all the amazing activities the RAF has to offer.
The Squadron’s next open night for new recruits to visit us and see if you want to join is Wednesday 3rd April.
Please come along at 8pm with your parents or guardians to The Cadet Centre, Heaton Drive, Ely (in the grounds of Ely Hospital)
