Our prediction becomes reality on April 24th as the final unit at Ely Leisure opens

Nando’s have formally announced this morning that the store on Ely’s Leisure Village is to open on April 24th. 1 year and 24 days after we set the cat among the pigeons in Ely with our April Fools prank about the store opening that day.

It is the last unit to be sold on the Leisure Village, however one store still remains unoccupied and the owner “Chosen Bun” still hasn’t decided when to open, if at all.

The chicken firm has many people excited about its arrival as the brand is growing outside of London at it’s highest rate ever. Reigate in Surrey is also expecting their latest Nando’s store on the same day.

Many people have taken to Twitter this morning to both let us know the official date and to express the excitement about the opening. Some have said “Bye Bye Bank Balance”.

No details have yet been announced about a formal ceremony but we have asked Nando’s PR to keep us in the loop.
