Proposed Move For Ely Post Office

Public consultation

The Post Office is proposing to relocate Ely Post Office to 7 St Mary’s Street, Ely, CB7 4ER.

These proposed premises, which are currently empty, would undergo a refurbishment to incorporate a stationary, gift, mobile accessories & repair store.

Ely Post Office at Central Hall, 52-54 Market Street, Ely, CB7 4LS is currently operated on our behalf by a temporary postmaster and we have been looking for a permanent solution. A new Postmaster has now been appointed they intend to relocate this branch to a newly refurbished retail premises nearby.

There would be a dedicated area of the store with two screened positions, offering the full range of Post Office products and services. There would also be a low-screened, modern Post Office till at the retail counter offering most Post Office products and services.

The opening hours would be Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation and we are looking for feedback about accessibility, local community issues and anything that we can do to make life easier for our customers.

The consultation will close on 21st May. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 269113.
