A record standing since 10th August 1989 was finally broken on the 9th June, taken part in the VTTA East Anglian 10, raced over 4 weeks on the E2/10 course at Six Mile Bottom on the A11.
Club members, Robert Golding, Mathew Ely and Phillip Gosling, joined 69 others on the start line with Robert Golding (right) leading the Ely riders home posting a time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds, just ahead of Mathew Eley (above), who finished on 20:26, with Phillip Gosling finishing in 21:13, giving them a team time of 1 hour, 1 minute and 6 seconds, to beat the long standing club record of 01:04:51, which had been held by Alan Newark, Steve Bamber and Don Darby.
