Remembrance Sunday At Witchford

Families and friends of the Veterans of 115 Squadron who were based at RAF Witchford airfield, now Lancaster Way Business Park, during WWII from 1943 to the end of hostilities, attended the Remembrance Service at St. Andrews Church in Witchford, then on to the short service and wreath laying at the 115 Squadron Memorial, dedicated to those who failed to return to Witchford from operations.

Both services were addressed by Reverend Teresa Dixon.

A buffet lunch was kindly provided by the Commitee of Witchford Social Club, followed by a visit to RAF Witchford Display of Memorabilia which is dedicated to Men and Women who were based at RAF Witchford 115 Squadron and 75 (N.Z.) Squadron based at RAF Mepal during WWII.

Also attending were two Air Cadets from Ely Air Training Corps and Fight Lieutenant Neil Bing (6FTS – 115 Squadron based at RAF Wittering.

The group photo was taken after the service and wreath laying at the 115 Squadron Memorial.
