On Saturday 15th September twenty three cadets from 1094 (City of Ely) Squadron spent the day collecting for the Royal Air Force Association in Ely Market Square.
RAFA believe that every generation owes a debt of gratitude to the RAF and their families. To protect the peace and safety we enjoy every day, they sacrifice the normal way of life most people take for granted. When someone in the RAF family needs help, the charity they turn to is the Royal Air Forces Association.
Today some of the next generation of the RAF repaid a little of that debt by giving up their time to collect for RAFA and thanks to the generosity of the residents of Ely hundreds of pounds were raised to aid the charities vital work.
Thank you to everyone in Ely who gave so generously today. The Squadron staff who accompanied the cadets were also very grateful to receive a near constant stream of compliments from the public about how smart, chatty, polite and respectful our cadets were.
