Ely Air Cadet Flight Sergeant Rory Donoghue experienced the Royal seal of approval yesterday (June 25th) when he attended his first engagement as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Cambridgeshire at the Peter Brotherhood engineering factory.
Rory was recently appointed by The Lord Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire Julie Spence OBE QPM and today the 1094 Squadron Cadet joined the Lord Lieutenant in welcoming The Duke of Gloucester to Peterborough to celebrate the City’s innovative STEM engineering industry.
Peter Brotherhood are a World-class engineering and support company and they are the UK only steam turbine manufacturer with products in over 100 countries provide a unique combination of the experience and expertise of an original equipment manufacturer, coupled with the responsiveness of a service organisation.
Flight Sergeant Donoghue was given the full VIP tour and spoke with several engineering apprentices his own age.
Later during his visit to Peterborough The Duke of Gloucester also officially opened a new sports car production centre at a Peterborough engineering company.
The Duke declared open the manufacturing hub for Radical Sportscars’ new road-legal model, the Rapture, during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Ivatt Way.
The Royal seal of approval comes ahead of the car’s global launch, which will take place at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 4th.
