Scouts gain Skills for Life

This Sunday the villagers from Sutton joined the Scout Group in a family fun day.

Scout Leaders from around the District along with Ely and Sutton Community First Responders, offered a range of fun Scouting activities to the community, to include archery, pioneering, code breaking, target golf, backwoods cooking and First Aid to include CPR and basic life support.

Families in attendance had a fantastic time We only planned to stay for a couple of hours and ended up being there for the duration”.

Group Scout Leader Ali Wells commented “today’s Scouting is all about skills for life, and we literally saw that in action today.  We are so thrilled to have the support of the local community, and are delighted to offer opportunities like today to show what a fun group we are, and how we can offer young people key life skills”.

It was commented how dedicated the leaders were to teaching new skills to all ages.  No charges were made for the activities but donations towards our new Scout Hut appeal were welcomed and the group raised over £500.
