The Light Festival is on again in St Andrews Church in Isleham this weekend, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December from 3 – 6pm.
Events include Community Carol Concert at 4:00 pm Sunday. There’s also the draw for the Grand Raffle at 5:30pm with the first prize being £100. Other prizes include a ‘pod’ coffee machine, food and gift hampers and numerous others.
The first weekend went very well, and around £1,400 has been raised so far. An incredible number of homemade mince pies and mulled wine were sold, 120!
There are an amazing 42 trees in the church from local organisations and businesses. The large 17-foot Christmas tree is donated every year by local farmer Dick Heffer, in memory of his wife Anne, and skillfully decorated by members of the congregation.
A range of competitions is still running for adults and children. including “Guess the weight of the cake”, “Decorate a Christmas Tree”, and “Find the Snowman”.
Our pictures are of the main Christmas tree attraction with guests and the font decoration; the choir singing in the church porch.
