1st Sutton Scouts are pleased to announce that their sleigh rides through the village of Sutton in December raised an amazing £518 towards Kiera’s Next Step and their new Scout hut appeal.
Kiera, 7 was delighted to ride in the sleigh with Father Christmas, charming the crowds and handing out gifts to the delighted children of Sutton.
Group Scout Leader Ali Wells states how thrilled the Group has been to receive such generous support from the local community and looks forward to presenting Kiera with over £250 towards her appeal.
Ali recalls how “young Kiera touched the heart of the Scout Group when she ably followed the sleigh on it’s inaugural visit to the village, in an excited attempt to talk to Father Christmas. We all hope this raises the profile of Kiera’s campaign and helps her reach her fundraising target towards an activity leg. The events were magical and a delight to hold as they spread cheer for all ages, throughout the village.”
The remaining funds will go towards the Groups own appeal for a new Scout hut, since they decommissioned their 1940s hut due to safety concerns.
