Christopher Smith will be running 30 miles in 3 hours for 3 charities read his fundraising story below.
“Next Tuesday on December 22nd 2020, I will be attempting to run 30 miles in under 3 hours.
This is a fundraising event in aid of three charities:
Liam Fairhurst Foundation
Alzheimer’s Research UK
and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The 30 in 3 fundraising idea came to mind following marathon cancellations in the UK after the Covid-19 outbreak. I fancied something like a marathon (26.2 miles) but with a bit of a twist so decided to round it up to 30.
I also wanted to represent multiple charities of different causes because they all will have been impacted by the fewer fundraising opportunities throughout this year. So then came ‘The 30 in 3 Challenge’: 30 miles in 3 hours for 3 charities.
The run will start and finish at Littleport Leisure Centre. You can find a link to the Event details, including the course map, via the fundraising page below.
I will be accompanied by a small team of cyclists.
If you would like to cheers us on, great spectator spots are Little Downham, Main Street between 11:00 – 12:30, and Pymoor village between 10:50 – 12:20. But please practice social distancing.
