We are looking for an apprentice to join our organisation for at least a 12 month period to gain some valuable working experience as a hand finisher and also to be given the opportunity to achieve an NVQ in Fashion and Textiles Apparel. This would be ideal for a school leaver to experience working full time, as well as earning an apprenticeship salary and gaining some additional qualifications. You will be shown how to hand sew and decorate the pieces with different components and then progress onto the sewing machines. You will start with simple patterns and build up with practice
We work a 37.5 hour working week, with the working hours as Monday to Thursday 8.10am until 4.55pm and Friday 8.10am until 12.50pm.
The qualification can take between 12 and 18 months to complete, during which time we would fully support you. Our expectations are that if we have the right candidate and they have succeeded with their qualifications and have shown themselves to be an honest and reliable member of the team, that we would be able to offer them full time permanent employment at that stage. Please note however, that this is not guaranteed.
The successful candidate must have a keen interest in the bridal industry and a textiles qualification from school or college, as well as the ability to read design patterns and follow instructions. We only want individuals with a natural ability to work with detail and the dedication to work to the highest standard to create the quality expected by our customers.
