Over the weekend (4th and 5th July) Viva was out in Ely fundraising for our two shows who will be heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. Viva has been taking our youth members to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2005 and since then it has grown more popular and we are now taking two shows!
On both Saturday and Sunday we were out in force at the Sainsbury’s Ely bag packing. All of our members and volunteers had a great time and we raised a total of £700.00 that will go towards supporting our two groups. Hannah Theobald, a cast member from Half a Sixpence, had a great time bag packing: ‘Bag packing at the weekend was brilliant because it gave all of the Viva members the opportunity to share their passion for the musical and theatre company with members of the public who had not heard about Viva before. It was great to meet new people, someone even met a guy who had performed Half a Sixpence 20 years ago. All round it was a great experience and really enjoyable.’ Viva would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Sainsbury’s Ely for your ongoing support to our charity throughout the year.
Not only that but Viva also had a smaller team at Aqua Fest with our very popular tombola as well as selling tickets for our Grand Summer Draw. They may have got a bit damp but they carried on smiling none the less!
Tickets are now on sale for our next summer production Half a Sixpence. Half a Sixpence is on from Wednesday 29th July to Friday 31st July at The Brook, Soham for three nights only! You can book tickets on 01353 722 228 or visit our website to book online: www.viva-group.org.uk. Tickets are all £12.00 for each show. Come and join us for this ‘Flash, bang, wallop’ of a show!
